A place to rest

There and Back Again February 4, 2008

I’ve barely put away my suitcase from the Honduras trip and now it is almost time to get it out again.  Once again during Spring Break, I have the opportunity to take a group of King students back to El Salvador with Orphan Helpers.  We’ll be working in two different centers this time:  Cisna, a boy’s ophanage and Illobosco, a girl’s detention center.  While there we’ll be leading Bible studies and also continuing work on a library that was set-up on last year’s trip.

It feels like this trip has come together almost without me.  I wasn’t sure whether or not we’d be going back after last year’s trip.  I was a little unsure about whether students would want to go back.  I also wasn’t sure about whether I could lead two trips almost back to back (that remains to be seen :-)   But, students wanted to go and God has blessed me with not only an amazing group of students, but also He is providing abundantly for our financial needs.

I’m excited about getting to go back to El Salvador again and excited about seeing how God will work in and through this group of students.  Maybe it’s the cold weather we’ve had lately or the effects of planning two mission trips while trying to keep with work and all the other commitments I have, I am a little tired and a little less than motivated to get things done recently.  So, please pray for good rest and timely completion of things that need to get done before we leave.

Here’s a video presentation that we used in church about a week ago when we talked about the Honduras trip.
